LAKHIMPUR: Shristi, a theatrical institution of Lakhimpur, observed the 10th death anniversary of Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on Friday in a befitting manner.

On the occasion, a programme was organized under the management of secretary Tulashi Saikia and chief organizer Anjana Gohain Baruah at the residential premises of Mina Kumari Rajkhowa, the adviser of Shristi. It started with the lighting of earthen lamps by president Keshav Borthakur, advisers Dharmeswar Gogoi, Nagen Sarmah, Kamal Borah in front of the portrait of the bard paying tribute to him.

It was followed by a chorus song presented by the members of the institution led by adviser Puspa Borah and Borgeet by Gunakanta Nath. Chief director of Shristi, Dr Sailen Borah, advisers Dharmeswar Gogoi, Nagen Sarmah, Kamal Borah, former president Raju Kakati spoke on the occasion highlighting the life of Dr. Hazarika. Rini Borah Saikia recited a self-composed poem on Sudhakantha named 'Manuhor Babe Oha Manuhjon'. Tulumoni Gogoi, Munmun Dutta Gogoi, Juri Saikia presented Bhupendra Sangeet. Pujashri Das and Saniya Das performed a creative dance item under the management of Ramen Das. Prashanta Borah presented Bhupendra Sangeet by playing mandolin. The programme concluded with Diha-nam presented by the members of the institution, led by Suren Rajkhowa.
